Liberty Sheds Serve Week: Building More Than Sheds, Building Community

At Liberty Sheds, service has always been at the heart of who we are. Over the years, our team has traveled across borders to serve others, from building a school in Mexico to supporting long-term volunteers serving refugees in Greece. We have also shown up in times of local need, such as providing aid after Hurricane Helene. But this October marked a new chapter for our team: our first-annual local Liberty Serve Week.

Serving With Purpose, Right Here at Home

Recently, Team Liberty came together for a week of hands-on service projects across our local communities. It was an opportunity to take the same heart we’ve carried into international missions and bring it to our own neighborhoods, meeting needs right here in North Carolina.

Throughout the week, team members from across departments stepped away from their regular routines to give their time, energy, and care to a variety of local organizations. Together, we cleaned, painted, landscaped, cooked, and built, helping prepare spaces that bring hope and stability to families every day.

Our teams partnered with:

Family Promise of Davie County
Family Promise provides shelter, resources, and long-term support to families experiencing homelessness. Our team reset one of their transitional homes to welcome a new family moving in, cleaning, restocking, and creating a warm, welcoming space for their next chapter.

Smart Start of Davie County
Smart Start supports early childhood development by equipping families and caregivers with resources to help children thrive. Our volunteers landscaped and beautified their outdoor spaces, creating a safe and inviting environment for the families they serve.

Cancer Services of Davie County
Cancer Services provides care, encouragement, and resources for individuals and families affected by cancer. Team Liberty helped refresh their building with a fresh coat of paint, bringing a touch of brightness and hope to their facility.

Habitat for Humanity of Davie County
Habitat for Humanity partners with families to build safe, affordable housing. Our crew joined their volunteers on-site to install vinyl siding on a new home, helping move one step closer to giving a family the keys to stability and security.

Serving Our Neighbors (SON)

SON coordinates food distributions and essential resources for those in need throughout our community. Our team pressure-washed and cleaned the fleet of vehicles used for the Mobile Food Pantry, helping ensure the trucks that serve local families were clean, safe, and ready for the road.

Mountain Valley Hospice
Mountain Valley Hospice provides compassionate end-of-life care and comfort for patients and their families. Our team cooked and served a warm meal for their staff and volunteers to express gratitude for the incredible care they provide every day.

Each project reminded us that service begins where we are. Whether across an ocean or across town, our calling is the same: to love our neighbors and use what’s in our hands to make a difference.

A Week That Reflects Our Values

Serve Week brought our company values to life in a powerful way. It wasn’t just about volunteering; it was about living out our purpose: building with excellence, serving with compassion, and being a light in our community.

Seeing our team members work side by side, encouraging one another, and serving with joy was a beautiful picture of what “Team Liberty” is all about.

Looking Ahead

This first Serve Week was just the beginning. We plan to continue building on this foundation, partnering with more local organizations, and finding new ways to invest in the people and places around us.

Because at Liberty Sheds, we believe we are called to build more than buildings; we are called to build belonging, hope, and community.
